iPREFS. Fibers for precast products.

Images

The fibers iprefs are indicated in the embodiments of prefabricated components such as: manholes, curbs, panels, tanks, gutters, tile drains, covers, railroad crossings, precast plates for rails and more, in general, all items which require a reduction or substitution of metallic reinforcements.
The substitution of metallic reinforcements permits to:

  • gain economic savings
  • reduction of uncasing times
  • reduction of work wastes (swarf)
  • reduction of accidents caused by the freight of metallic reinforcement
  • Improved productivity of systems

  • iPREFS fibers, in contrast to normal metallic reinforcements (mesh or fiber), do not corrode, do not create magnetic impedance, are resistant to acids, base elements and generally all aggressive substances, since they are chemically inert. Concrete reinforced with iPREFS fibers has increased durability and mechanical and shock resistance.
Dosages can vary from 1.5 to 5 kg/m3 according to the type of performance required in the fiber reinforced concrete.

tabella1 For the purpose of evaluating the benefits of the use of iPREFS structural fibers in the production of precast products, a flexural test was conducted on a traditional reinforced concrete slab and a modified slab with iPREFS fibers used as secondary reinforcement.

They are available in three different sizes (29/39/49 mm) according to the type of application being used and the thickness of the underlayment.

They can be inserted on the aggregates conveyor belt at the mixing plant or directly in the concrete mixer at the start of the cycle or with packaged concrete mix as the final ingredient. iPREFS fibers disperse evenly into the concrete mixture, do not create sediment, nesting or lumps, even in larger doses.
